Blog

Having a blog means you can use keywords/questions that your site will be searched for. Updating this regularly will also signal to Google that your site is relevant, active and full of fresh content. I include a blog page on all websites, if it doesn’t currently show in your main navigation, watch at the end of the video below I’ll show you how to do that so that visitors to your site can find the page.

Below, you can see how to create or edit a blog post. Always make sure the URL is relevant, separated by dashes (-) and that you have an SEO title and description, this is what will help you get found in search results.

  • Post consistently rather than in bursts, even monthly is fine, as long as it's regular

  • Write one clear topic per post, matching a real question your audience is searching for

  • Use a strong, descriptive title with the main keyword near the start

  • Set a unique SEO title and meta description for every post (same as regular pages)

  • Structure posts with headings (Heading 2/Heading 3) so they're easy to scan

  • Keep paragraphs short, 2–3 sentences works well for readability

  • Add at least one image, with proper alt text

  • Link to other relevant pages or posts on your own site

  • Include a call to action at the end (contact, etc.)

  • Add a category or tag so posts are easy to browse (e.g. for each service)

  • Review and update older posts occasionally rather than only publishing new ones

  • Link between your own pages using descriptive text (not "click here")
